Benefits

It provides rigidity to plant tissues making them more resistant. Silicon molecules accumulate forming a coating on the epidermis in the form of polymers, which protects and mechanically strengthens plant cells.
Mitigating the probability of lodging in Cereals. The presence of these layers of colloidal silicon gel in the vessels and under the epidermis, gives resistance to the stems against lodging.
Increases the tolerance of the plant to salinity and counteracts the negative effect of adverse conditions produced by water deficiency and elevated temperature. Silicon, when accumulating in the epidermal cells, forms a thin layer, acting as a barrier against water loss and perspiration.
It improves soil fertility and its physical characteristics. Silicon is able to release nutrients such as P, Ca, MG, K and B to the soil solution and make them available to the plant. The formation of the soil structure is carried out through the creation of silicon bridges, which by adding silicic compounds, increases the degree of soil aggregation, the water retention capacity and the cation exchange capacity.
Neutralizes the toxicity of heavy metals. The soluble form of silicon combines with these elements in the soil to form non-toxic silicate complexes, thus reducing their presence in the colloidal fraction of the soil.
Nutritional product with fungistatic and insect repellent effect. As the cuticle has thickened due to the accumulation of silica, the haustoria of certain fungi (such as ascomycetes) are not able to penetrate it and therefore invasion does not occur. Likewise, the crystals that accumulate on the surface of the leaf make it appetizing for pest insects.
